Processes:
Getting the Shot: The fun part of this job and life style is that we get to see and be at some of the most amazing and beautiful locations. The hard part is getting just the right shot with the right light. There alot of early mornings and late evenings trying to catch just the right light.
Film Processing is done by a 3rd Party.
Film Scanning: I do all my own film scanning. I use a Nikon Super Coolscan 4000.
Image Adjustments: I make all color corrections using Adobe Photoshop CS2. I try to ensure that the image color is as close to the actual scene. I do not manipulate my photographs in any other way besides color correction.
Printing: I print all images 13"x24" and smaller. My printer of choice is the Epson 2200. I use all Epson products for printing. All Epson products are archival and acid free. For images 16"x20" and larger I have printed by a 3rd party printer. The paper I choose is the Fuji Professional Crystal Archive II Paper, processed in Fuji Professional RA-4 Chemistry with a lustre finish. The printer is a Durst Epsilon Led 30.
Matting and Framing: All mats and frames are pre-cut by a 3rd party. All matting and framing materials are archival and acid free. I do all my own assembly of the matting and framing process.
Floating Plaque: This process is done by a 3rd party. The image is laminated and dry-mounted to a 3/8" piece of light weight MFD board. The board has a slight black beveled edge. The board is mounted on a 2"deep frame made smaller than the image size itself. When mounted to the wall it seems as if the image floats from the wall. Without the glare of not having glass and giving all the attention to the photograph itself without the presence of a mat or frame the Image has a clean sharp look.
